ShefGuide is developed to help new students adapt to new environment faster. By utilizing newest technology to centralize information and make university information accessible than ever before. In other words, instead of navigating complex university website, learning about structures, now you just type your question and the chatbot will answer everything you want to know.
The way to do that is to to create a language model specifically for everything in the university. This project is under the mentor of IBM and perhaps the most challenging part is to build everything with zero budget, all the other teams that are on similar things have failed to deliver a working product due to this·, and we've found a interesting way to work around things.
The final product is very useful, in fact I used this chatbot myself to borrow a book from the university !
